The Ministry Philosophy

We believe technology should serve people, not replace ministry. We’re a small team of Christians in technology, helping churches care well for their congregation.

The world is using digital tools boldly—businesses grow fast while many churches stay cautious. That’s understandable—but we believe the time has come for churches to use online tools wisely: to strengthen relationships, simplify ministry work, and keep the Church connected.

We build tools that support discipleship and care—so pastors and leaders can stay focused on people.

“Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself—near your altars, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.” — Psalm 84:3

“So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” — Matthew 10:31

How the Sparrow Ministry Began

We’ve watched pastors carry heavy administrative loads while people long for deeper care. Information gets scattered. Systems get complicated. Ministry becomes harder than it should be.

Sparrow Digital Lab started with a simple conviction:
Technology can help the Church care well!

We’re not here to build an empire in the church world. Instead, we’re offering what God has placed in our hands—our skills, our time, our minimal savings—trusting, like the sparrow, in the Father’s faithful care.

“God watches over us — and we care for one another.”

Our Vision and Mission

  • Vision: Use technology wisely. Steward information well. Strengthen care and connection.

  • Mission: Serve the Church and ministries through meaningful information technology.

“If the axe is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed; but wisdom will bring success.”

— Ecclesiastes 10:10

Peter Tong
Ministry Director

When I turned 55, God placed a question on my heart: Will my next 10 years be the most productive and meaningful? I’ve loved the Church most of my life, and I’ve seen technology help businesses grow—but I realized it could also serve the Church in a deeper way. I wanted to invest my talents into something lasting for the Body of Christ. That’s how the vision for Sparrow Digital Lab began: creating tools that quietly support pastors and leaders, trusting that His eye is on the SPARROW.

Kit Wong
Design Manager

I wasn’t a natural in math or tech, but a faith challenge in university changed my path. I decided to trust Jesus fully and pursue design in a way that could serve the Church. Starting Sparrow Digital Lab meant stepping out boldly, leaving my comfort zone to create tools that make life easier for churches. I focus on designing experiences that fade into the background, so people and relationships remain at the center.

Arthur Chan
System Manager

I’ve spent over a decade working in IT and database management, and when I joined Peter, I realized something important: church systems aren’t about features or complexity—they’re about helping leaders care for people. My goal is to make technology simple, reliable, and truly supportive, so it frees leaders to focus on relationships and ministry. Serving God through IT is my way of blessing the Church.
